Two Worlds

There are two worlds and that’s as much as we know. God created the spiritual world otherwise known as the unseen world and the physical world, otherwise known as the visible world. The spiritual world is the supernatural world. The human realm is the natural or physical world. Those in the spiritual world can only function in the natural world through the supernatural. Likewise, those in the natural world can only function in the spiritual world through the supernatural. The spiritual world is the unseen world while the physical world is the seen world. The Scriptures in Heb. 11:3 and 2 Cor. 4:18 teach us about the two worlds and how to operate within them. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of

God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”  Heb. 11:3.  We always quote the verse of the Bible in 2 Cor. 4:18 with our eyes more on the second part that says, “for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”  Well, we should also pay as much attention to the first part of 2 Cor. 4:18 which says, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen…”  because the second part is put there to further explain the importance of working in the first part of the verse. We should as Christians look at the things which are not seen. We must focus on the things that are spiritual. The things which are not seen are spiritual things. In practice many focus only on the things which are seen. To be able to command the supernatural we must focus on the things which are not seen. It’s one of the biggest secrets to commanding the supernatural. In 2 Cor. 4:18, we read, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”   How exactly do you possibly look at the things which are not seen?  The statement is contrary to common was sense, right? You can’t possibly look at the things which are not seen because they are obviously not visible. But God means what He says and says what He means. It takes faith to look beyond the limit of sight. It takes knowledge also, to look at the things which are not seen. I have often said that knowledge is superior to faith. Knowledge may have its beginning in faith but it is superior to faith. If we didn’t know that we were supposed to focus on the things that are hidden to natural sight how can we possibly address our minds to them? We’ll see more of the role and importance of knowledge in helping us to focus on what is not seen in a subsequent chapter. We must understand that there is something that knowledge helps us to do in understanding the unseen. Our Lord Jesus told a parable which carefully illustrates the need for us to operate from a supernatural position as Christians and Believers. He said in Mat 13:24 “…The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.”

The enemy came when no man could see him. The enemy is invisible and apart from being invisible the enemy did invisible things to the good seed. This Night Farmer as I prefer to call him didn’t intend to be seen but you know what, someone saw him anyways – and this is the point. If no one saw the enemy there is no way we’d have read the story. The one who sees such enemy and tells the story is operating in the supernatural. This is beyond the natural – definitely beyond. It is also far beyond science. Science is the only thing that attempts the unseen but science is limited still. The supernatural is the ability to see beyond the natural. If you cannot see the supernatural you cannot operate the supernatural. Where the LORD wants us to put our focus in the parable about what happened while men slept is on the fact that things go on beyond the natural that we need to know about and deal with. The real problem isn’t so much about the havoc that the enemy wreaked on the farm even though it is important to deal with that as well. It is more about being aware of what happens when men sleep and in the unseen world generally. That’s when we can easily stop the intrusions and deal with the damages caused by the enemy. The aspect of “while men slept, his enemy came” is the main thrust of our writing this book. The fact that there is a supernatural unseen world from where the earth realms are influenced and controlled and as stakeholders, to be able to operate effectively and successfully in and out of the supernatural as God intends. Knowledge is Important Our ability as Christians to function and to function effectively in the spiritual world through the supernatural is largely through, first of all, knowledge. A life of holiness, fasting and prayers would determine our ability to dominate in and out of the supernatural and how powerfully we are able to function in the supernatural but they will not on their own make us supernatural. This is just the hard truth. A Christian may be holy, prayerful and even powerful but may not know how to work the supernatural.

It is not only Christians that can function in the supernatural and control the supernatural.  You really don’t have to be a Christian to function in the supernatural.  All you need have is some knowledge about how the supernatural works.  The magicians in Egypt functioned very easily in and out of the supernatural as Moses engaged them in those epic battles for supremacy.  Unfortunately, the wicked one and his agents appear to have more knowledge about the unseen or the spiritual world than us Christians today. The Scripture says in Exo. 7:10-13, “And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.  Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods. And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.”  Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers who performed magic. They were able to through their enchantments turn rods into serpents just like Moses and Aaron did. And we read “…but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.”

The only difference was that Aaron’s rod swallowed the magicians’ and the sorcerers’ rods. In the final battle Moses had the upper hand because he went beyond the sorcerers and magicians into further realms of the supernatural that they couldn’t match up with – they just couldn’t operate any further. But that the sorcerers operated in the supernatural cannot be disputed. They didn’t have to be Christians or godly to have operated in the supernatural. They necessarily didn’t have to be holy to make the supernatural happen. Why were they able to operate the supernatural – because they had knowledge about how the supernatural operated. Knowledge is key to operating the supernatural and we would by His grace help you build up a body of knowledge about the supernatural.

They’d be necessary tools for your development in the supernatural lifestyle. We would therefore look at the role of knowledge in operating and engaging the supernatural later on. But let’s first look at where the supernatural life begins for a Christian. Don’t forget that we said that you don’t have to be a Christian to work the supernatural.  For the Christian, the supernatural is accessed through a different route from that of the worldly or unregenerated soul.

Let’s Pray

Father, thank you for making me understand that there are two worlds in which we must operate. Make me conscious of this fact and be always ready to work with you in both worlds as you will, dear Lord in Jesus Name. Amen!
